Running cost is only one part of ownership. Compare the known purchase, energy and service cost with the same route assumptions.

Use the same distance
Compare both vehicles at the same monthly kilometres and use an energy or fuel estimate dated for the same market context. Low annual distance can make a higher upfront price slower to recover.
Keep exclusions visible
Insurance, finance, tyres, resale, battery replacement and unscheduled repairs should not be guessed. Show them as exclusions unless reviewed evidence supports a figure.
